Say Goodbye to Fan Blades

Then James Dyson has a new product that should interest you. Dyson, the guy behind the innovative vacuum cleaners, recently took on the electric fan. His engineers spent four years redesigning the conventional electric fan, which hadn't changed much beyond style for the past 125 years, to create innovative air flow.

The result: The Dyson Air Multiplier fan, which has no blades and looks more like a lens-less magnifying glass than a fan. It uses a unique technology to multiply air 15 times, expelling 119 gallons of smooth and uninterrupted air every second.

Because the fan has no blades, it doesn't need a grille. It's simple to clean and safe - you can put your hand right through the center of it. And it looks a whole lot better than the typical box fan.

The Dyson Air Multiplier is available in two 10-inch models--blue and iron or silver and white--which retail for $299.99. A 12-inch model is available in silver and iron. It sells for $329.99.
